Dr. A. Venkadesh Babu, is a social worker in the field of Drug Abuse prevention. He is passionate in creating a Drug free society by sensitising the students/youth across the Nation. He is a holder of Guinness World Record for the Largest Drug Awareness Lesson. At present he is a serving I.R.S. Officer from the Indian Customs and IT Services, Government of India. He had worked in ED and investigated Money Laundering and Hawala cases in several high profile cases. He also worked as the Head of Office of Central Bureau of Narcotics (Preventive and Intelligence cell) Chennai, enforcing NDPS Act 1985. He represented the Country in the ASEAN Regional Forum seminar on “Precursor Chemicals and Synthetic Drugs” organised under the aegis of UNODC (United Nations Office on Drugs and Crimes) held in Bangkok in 2015. He is a recipient of the prestigious Presidential Award and President’s Medal for the Specially Distinguished Record of Service announced on the eve of the Republic Day 2022. He has authored a book titled "Silent Terrorism - Let's Talk About Drugs".
